In 1972 I served a 5 year engineering apprenticeship plus 4 years in business administration, in a family business. My last job there was to close it in 1986 after the death of my father. I think it was the saddest day of my life. I then spent 10 years in interim management learning how other businesses worked, I christened it the ‘Pied Piper’s Job’. I worked on turn rounds, shut downs, quality standards, politically sensitive assignments and a few other jobs that no one else wanted to do but it paid the bills. In 1996, having spent most of my life trying to sort out business muddles, largely brought about by poor investment in the business and severe lack of investment in marketing, I started my own business and called it Engineered Solutions. I learned in this period that attention to detail, presentation, technical accuracy and an overriding determination to get it right first time was the key to succeeding and that success could not always be measured financially. I spent the first 10 years in my own business travelling the world and Europe to find ‘the good guys’. My definition of the good guys are the people who do what they say they will do, when they give you a price they stick by it, and they deliver exactly what you order and if they get it wrong, they put it right quickly. Everyone I deal with meets this standard.  Some of the people you may well know but combined in this website is everything I know about producing a first class job by design and it has taken me 38 years to develop and I am still learning. Additionally to this standard is the technical expertise you would expect and the qualifying independent assessments covered in the various quality standards.

My pledge to you is that I will do everything I can to help you win business. I will help you with site surveys, I will do drawings for you, I will even help you with the quotations.  My quotations and my terms and conditions are all borne out of experience so if you back to back the work with me, the odds of right first time are well in your favour and also you have all the other engineers, managers and owners in the team of people I work with who are every bit as determined as I am that your job goes without a hitch. I am no stranger to impossible tasks. Although I am a mechanical engineer, I have a keen interest in all other areas and many contacts in other fields. This enables me to help with construction projects, with buildings, ground works and several other keys areas of legislative value such as planning and building regulations. These facilities are extended to you in the interests of you winning business.

Currently I have a trade range of dock shelters and levellers, industrial doors and industrial retractable tent buildings. I also supply a complimentary range of specialist and standard lifting tables of Italian and German design which play a big part in these applications.
